I hope you are having a wonderful Christmas, and if Christmas isn't your thing, at least a good holiday.
The entire clan has managed to gather in Long Beach, California: The sister who lives here and her husband and son. My younger brother and his husband(not used to writing that yet!). My oldest sister and her husband and two children. My parents. My two younger sisters. And, of course, me.
14 of us in all. Some are staying at my sister's house and the rest of us have rented a nice house in the Belmont Shore part of Long Beach.
We have 6 cars for 10 drivers, which sounds completely ridiculous, but wouldn't you know that all have been in use at the same time the previous two days. This is LA, and yes, you really do need a car.
Back home it was -13F yesterday morning. In the marinas of Alamitos Bay, ice is just a rumor of far off lands, a story to scare small children around beach campfire. Combine that with the time difference and it really seems like a whole different world out here on the Left Coast. I mean, I'm still sitting here drinking coffee at 9:00 and getting ready to help cook breakfast, but back home they're already thinking about lunch.
We're all taking turns making dinner for the group. Dad, my older nephew, and I are slated for Friday night. I think we will do this recipe(x2), video here.
That's the update from sunny California.
Merry Christmas!
