Last week, in a momentary lapse of reason, I foolishly said to someone that we had seen the last of heat waves for the summer. Like the proverbial butterfly flapping its wings in Brazil, my words bounced and echoed through the karma of Gaia and resulted in this:
The mid-80s aren't so bad, but they aren't the mild 70s that we've been blessed with since July's heat wave. Given those mild temps and the fact that we were only about a month away from our average first frost, I thought I was safe.
