Good grief, not another one:

Pete Kozma of the St. Louis Cardinals hit his 3rd career home run Tuesday during the Cardinals’ 6-1 win over the Diamondbacks, but the real story is what happened to the ball after it cleared the fence. A man and a woman were sitting at a table, apparently enjoying a cold beverage. As the ball comes directly at them, you can see the man jump out of the way and let his girlfriend/wife/sister get drilled in the face.

Uff da.  I've seen first-hand how wicked and hard to judge a screaming line drive into the stands can be, and it's nasty. That said, there's no excuse for diving out of the way and letting a companion take the shot, especially a wife/girlfriend or, heaven forbid, a child.

As baseballs into the stands go, that's about the easiest catch there is. Could it be he was trying to get out of the way and let her catch it? Maybe? hey, work with me, I'm trying to be a nice guy.
