So, the FFL semi-finals start tonight with Philadelphia hosting Cincinnatti. The experts say the Eagles should be a good match up for two of my players, Andy Dalton and A.J. Green, but who knows? Sorry, Kate, but I hope the experts are right this time.
My real dilemma this week is at running back, because it looks like I have four good options and believe me I'm going to have to pick the right ones if I'm going to have any chance at all to knock out the best team in the league this week. They are:
- Alfred Morris, Washington Redskins. Morris has rushed for over 100 yards and two TDs the last three games. He faces a Cleveland defense that gave up 165 yards and a TD to Jamaal Charles last week. Charles, you'll see, is another of my options. Not only has Morris been hot lately, but QB Robert Griffin has a bad knee and probably won't be able to steal as many rushing yards from Morris as usual, assuming he plays at all. He looks like a pretty good play, but is he good enough?
- Jamaal Charles, Kansas City Chiefs. 165 yards and a TD last week. He's surpassed 100 yards in four of his last five games. The problem with Charles is the Chiefs tend to look elsewhere when the get inside the ten yard line. They either pass or hand it off to Peyton Hillis instead. The only reason he got a TD last week was because he busted a run for 80 yards and a TD to start the game. Great potential, but I think his coach hates him. On the other hand, he's up against Oakland and their 26th ranked rushing defense. Of course, back in week 8 against Oakland his coach only gave him the ball 5 times. That's why a great back like Charles is such a gamble.
- Knowshon Moreno, Denver Broncos. I picked him up last week and he promptly earned me 9 points. He's up against a better defense this week, but the Ravens are the ones who let Morris romp for 125 yards and a TD last week. With Peyton Manning in fine form the Ravens won't be able to stack things up against the run. Knowshon looks like a good play again this week.
- DeMarco Murray, Dallas Cowboys. Murray has become the Cowboys go to RB since coming back from injury. He has over 20 carries and a TD in both games since then. He's up against a tough Pittsburgh run defense though, and I wouldn't be surprised if Dallas falls behind early and goes with the pass more than the run.
