As I watched the House vote on the deficit bill this evening the House floor suddenly erupted in applause. It went on for maybe a minute without explanation until the C-SPAN host read off a tweet that Rep. Gabrielle Giffords had returned to Congress to cast a yes vote tonight. After a few moments you could indeed see her being greeted by her colleagues.
Wow. An emotional moment for both sides of the aisle I think. What a great thing to see.
