Looks like our old friend Andrew Sullivan has a new gig:
Obstetrics Weekly announced today that they had signed noted blogger Andrew Sullivan to a long term contract.
"We are very pleased to bring Andrew aboard to be the Senior Editor of our brand new Sarah Palin's Uterus section," said publisher Dr. I.C. Hands. "When he first started his obsession in September of 2008, we were intrigued but didn't think he could keep it going for two months let alone two years. Andrew proved us wrong though, so now we welcome him and his similarly obsessed left-wing fans to our magazine and website."
Sullivan was equally enthusiastic about his new home.
"I really appreciated my time at The Atlantic and have only good things to say about the folks there. It's just that even though I didn't mind when they pulled me away to be a sycophant for Barack Obama, that other stuff distracted me from my one true love, writing about Sarah Palin's Uterus. "
Sullivan will write a weekly column and oversee a staff of interns who will blog, tweet, and post on the magazine's Sarah Palin's Uterus Facebook page. Neither man would comment on the persistent rumor that Conor Friedersdorf will join the team once negotiations, currently stalled over the issue of a complementary juicebox budget, are resolved.
More: A rare Sullivan link so we can see the rapier-like wit that Tina Brown is buying:
If your name is Koch, it's pronounced cock. And if your name is Boehner, it's pronounced boner. They can always change their names if they want. Until then ... I'm calling it like it is.
My God, that's just genius. Who else would have thought to do a play on their names and manage to come up with the words cock and boner? You see? This is the kind of brilliance that we need to see more of from our pundit class.
