The big buzz today in the Twin Cities is the official Twins home opener at Target Field. The Twins will take on the Red Sox at 3:10. There's rain to the south and west, but the forecast this morning said it should hold off until maybe the later innings and even then just be light.
I haven't been down there yet myself. Everything I've heard has been very positive though. I still think that if they were going to build a new stadium here they should have coughed up the money and done a retractable roof because of how cold it can get here in April and September, but that argument was lost a long time ago. Now it's just time to enjoy baseball outdoors for the first time in 30 years here.
If you are interested in the facts and features of the new Target Field, the Strib has a pretty good section on it here.
