Is it just me or has Firefox become a pig of a web browser? I was having all sorts of resource issues when browsing last week and initially thought I had picked up another piece of malware. Surfing the web was painfully slow on both my desktop and laptop, but both came up clean after multiple scans. I finally uninstalled Firefox and replaced it with Google Chrome. Problem solved.
I don't want or need a bunch of bells and whistles in a browser, I want speed. Firefox was originally a godsend because it was so much faster than IE on both machines. It had some annoying habits about upgrading and wanting to add stuff at the worst times, but overall it was still better than IE. It seems the latest upgrade was the final straw though.
I'm not a big fan of Google and its march to takeover the world, but Chrome appears to be a clean and fast browser, and so far I haven't run into any compatibility issues. I haven't researched the technology much or their overall philosophy. Hopefully they will keep it nice and sleek. If you are having browser issues and want to check it out, you can find it here.
