The much anticipated gold medal game for men's hockey is here. Canada is the favorite, but I think it's too close to call. Both teams have routed opponents badly, but I don't see that happening today. A shock and awe start like the US stunned Finland with would be nice to take the crowd out of it, but that ain't going to happen.
On offense, Canada needs to neutralize the great shot blocking that the US has delivered for goalie Ryan Miller by making great plays and getting the puck in close. For the US on offense, they need to avoid being checked at center ice and winning more of the battles for the puck in the corners. Whichever team executes better on that will win unless one of the goaltenders has just a disastrous outing. I don't see that happening either.
