Jim Souhan on Gardenhire ripping into his team yesterday:
Gardenhire did the right thing. His team has lost about four games it should have won in the past two weeks, is performing poorly in the field, on the bases and in the batter's box, and is in danger of falling way behind two scary teams, Detroit and Cleveland.
Yep. It goes back even further than two weeks in my opinion. They have squandered a better than expected start from their much maligned rotation. The season is not over by any means, but I see no attitude change in this team. Unless we do see one, don't even think about the playoffs. And the thought of another Central Division crown is ludicrous. Guys? Don't you realize that you're turning into a living example of how not to execute the fundamentals of baseball? Hello?
It might be prudent to start lowering some expectations.
