Congratulations to the Detroit Tigers for crushing the Evil Empire in the playoffs. Good job, gentlemen. After the wild finish to the regular season, my Twins came out flat against Oakland. It was a great season for Twins fans, but still a very disappointing end in the playoffs. I think the Twins kind of burned out emotionally at the end of the season and I hope the Tigers have not done the same with their win over the Yankees. Don't get me wrong, the A's came to play and earned their sweep of the Twins. They are a damn good team and should be able to hang with the Tigers, if not beat them. I'm rooting for the Tigers though. Extra credit for beating the Yankees and all that.
On the FFL front, I'm 2-2 but it could have been 3-1 with a little luck. Some players that started off slow have started to come on and I'm cautiously optimistic. McNabb has been stellar and Steve Smith is back to full strength. On Rob's recommendation, I picked up Marques Colston of the Saints, who promptly rewarded me with a TD and over 100 yards. Thanks, Rob! I may need to dump Rackers as my kicker though, and good grief, What happened to the Giants defense? Ah well, those are questions to address after this weekend.
Finally, the thought of the day comes from my buddy Ray, who helped me fire up Dad's Model A and give it some exercise yesterday:
"If it can't be done wrong, it probably can't be done at all."
