I think this kid is going to have a hard time topping these numbers in his football career:
Peter Warren rushed for 253 yards on 19 carries and scored an unofficial Minnesota-record eight touchdowns to lead Cook County to a 70-6 rout over Cass Lake-Bena in a Section 7A high school football quarterfinal game Tuesday night at Grand Marais.
Warren scored on runs of 2, 5 and 5 yards as the second-seeded Vikings (7-1) took a 30-0 lead in the first quarter, then added scoring runs of 38, 10, 7, 6 and 23 the next two quarters.
One of his teammates racked up another 142 yards on nine carries.
I don't think it was a matter of running up the score, it was just a train wreck of a mismatch. According to a local station here, Warren wasn't even supposed to be in for his last TD, it was a little sideline miscommunication that let that happen. He and the rest of the first team sat most of the second half after that.
