I guess I shouldn't be surprised by this, but I am sort of:
Forget breast implants and lip injections: Growing your chin is the hottest new way to look younger and get ahead.
Chin augmentation is the fastest-growing trend in plastic surgery, outpacing the growth of procedures such as lip augmentation, laser skin resurfacing and soft tissue fillers, according to the American Society of Plastic Surgeons.
I'm not a fan of elective cosmetic surgery. The few occasions that I've been asked for my opinion I've mildly discouraged it. But, I also understand the feelings that can drive someone to want to get something "done," so I try not to be judgmental about it. I just think it's unwise to mess with an otherwise healthy and reasonably normal body.
Most cosmetic surgeries turn out fine, but I do know a couple people who suffered complications. Though it ultimately turned out okay for them, both wouldn't go through it again.
I don't see a chin implant in my future, even if I could perhaps benefit from one. I don't think the risk of "bruising, movement of the implant, damage to the teeth, blood clots and scarring" would be worth it.
In other chin news, I am clean-shaven once again. Even though it was snowing this morning when I got up, I couldn't stand it anymore. See ya next fall, Mr. Beard.
