Bad news and good news.
The tomato plants are looking a little scrawny.
They continue to produce flowers, and now a handful of actual tomatoes have appeared.
The terrorist bunnies got to some of the corn shoots. I think I was a day or two late with the second application of Liquid Fence.
The rest are doing well and the ones that did get nibbled may come back. The pepper plant that got stripped bare and the cilantro have both come back. I don't know if the corn shoots that got hit will, but maybe. If they don't, I'll use the space for something else in the next two weeks.
The package on the radishes says 22 days to harvest. I don't think so.
They are doing fine, but I'm guessing two weeks behind.
The heavy rain last night just pounded the carrot tops flat.
The same thing happened to the radish plants earlier and they popped right back. We'll see what tomorrow brings.
Don't get me wrong, I'm pretty happy with the progress so far. I got the second round of beans, carrots, onions, and radishes in today. Directly below is a pic from today, and for comparison, below that is a reminder of how it looked four weeks ago when it was first planted.(click photos to enlarge)
Every radish I ever planted said 28 days and were always ready at exactly 28. Once the rabbits know where the food is, I don't think any non-lethal method will deter them except a real rabbit-wire fence and it would probably have to be least a foot below ground all the way around. They'll tunnel under it. You could also buy some whole corn and just give them something they prefer. :)

The radishes are Burpee's Cherry Belle. The package has the image of a basket and says 22 days. The plants seem fine and I saw a good root, but no evidence of bulbs yet. Maybe I should be worried, I choose not to be.
I think the problem with the Liquid Fence was that the corn shot up so quickly. When it first appeared I put down an application. I think I waited too long on the second though, as the plants outgrew the coverage of the first. I think that stuff actually works on the bunnies around here. They chowed on the petunias and daisies in the front flower bed, where I didn't apply it until later, and now those are coming back.
I really am trying to avoid a physical fence. They are such a pain to do right AND be decent looking. I'll do that before I pay the bunnies bribes though. Liquid fence is pricey(to me), and so is a good fence. But I'll do those before I try to pay off the bunnies.

Well, if you've got millions ...

Ha, pretend millions. But that's ok, I was just pretending to be Thomas Jefferson there too.
