“You know, education, if you make the most of it, if you study hard and you do your homework, and you make an effort to be smart, uh, you, you can do well. If you don’t, you get stuck in Iraq.”

Upon further review(5:00 PM): When I read the quote this morning I couldn't believe it. After I watched the video a couple of times, I was furious and did the original post. Since then I've read quite a few comments, including Kerry's clumsy and stupid response, and in fairness to Kerry it is possible that he really meant to refer to Bush instead of the military. The thing is though, he said what he said. If the jackass had half a brain, instead of going on the attack after his gaffe he would have said, "Look, I made a mistake and misspoke and I apologize. I can understand how my remarks could be misconstrued, but my intent was not to insult our men and women in the military". Not that Kerry exactly has a reservoir of goodwill with me, what with the Genghis Khan thing and all, but unlike how the Left treats Bush, I'd be willing to give him the benefit of the doubt and drop it. Nope, he's got to froth on about "Republican hacks" and "despicable Republican attacks".
Bullshit. Kerry created the opportunity for reasonable people to construe his remarks as a slam on members of the US military. If he would be a man and own up to what he said, explain it with some honest humility and apologize, this would blow over. I don't think he has either the brains or the character to do that. Fucking dumbass.
(Line of the day: "… it is perfectly clear what Mr. Kerry said … what’s unclear is whether Mr. Kerry ever means what he says. Perhaps he was against his comments before he actually made them.")
Heheh. Via Hot Air...again.
