Bill Keller of the New York Times comes back with this brilliant argument against critics of the latest NYT disclosure of a sensitive anti-terrorist program:
Some of the incoming mail quotes the angry words of conservative bloggers and TV or radio pundits who say that drawing attention to the government's anti-terror measures is unpatriotic and dangerous. (I could ask, if that's the case, why they are drawing so much attention to the story themselves by yelling about it on the airwaves and the Internet.)
He's right of course. There may be some terrorist somewhere who missed the story on the front page of the Times. So if you're going to comment on the Times story, be responsible, be patriotic, and........be vewy, vewy, quiet.
