I'm back from an extra-long weekend "up north". My niece and nephew are in town from NYC, along with my youngest sister Patty (their Aunt Patty). My brother, my sister Nancy who's in Minneapolis, and our parents took them up to Grand Marais for some fun up in northern Minnesota. Patty worked up on the Gunflint for about 10 years and for her it was great fun to reconnect with her friends and former coworkers. For the little ones, Patty and I got them out for their first canoe rides, a couple of short trips on Flour Lake that they seemed to enjoy a lot.
We also did a short hike up to Honeymoon Bluff, which overlooks Hungry Jack Lake.
It had clouded up considerably and we got a few sprinkles so it was time to do a little wild blueberry picking at a spot Patty knew in Superior National Forest.
Saturday was Sammy goes to the Spa day, where she got a bath, pedicure, and ear cleaning. She wasn't entirely happy about it. Talk about ungrateful.
I need to take a look at TypePad's newest photo tools. There are probably some things there that would help in layout and photo management and there's no doubt I need to get the photo albums in shape so I can post more of the shots. It was a great weekend though and I'm not in the mood to get into that. But here's another shot from the north shore of Lake Superior......Dawn, with a full moon getting ready to call it a night.
