Things are looking much more grim today in New Orleans and the rest of the Gulf Shore. The pictures from Biloxi and other parts of Mississippi are terrible and the levee failures in New Orleans after it looked like the city wasn't damaged as badly as feared is dispiriting. That there's so much uncertainty about the death toll is scary and something we are not used to, and that shows the magnitude of what's going on. 36 hours and we still don't know entirely how bad it was or will get. When's the last time that happened with a natural disaster in the US?
